I am a practicing textile artist and experienced tutor, having taught for over 15 years in the university sector, as well as teaching adult workshops and summer schools in a variety of venues worldwide. My fascination with historical textiles and experience of my own textile practice underpins my teaching.Workshops typically include a blend of practical techniques, group discussion and one-to-one guidance.

Suitable for all abilities, although some experience with hand stitch would be advantageous.

Studying historical textiles is the inspiration for this two day class, in which we use cyanotype and hand stitch to create textile art pieces. On day two the focus in on studying historical textiles and translating observed marks into stitch to add to your prints. You will leave the class with a textile art piece well on the way and lots of ideas.
