Playful Painting and Printing With Eloise Renouf – 11 April 2026

This all-day workshop is an opportunity to join a small group for a relaxed and playful experience, learning and developing the skills of mark-making, painting and printing on fabric, using simple tools and equipment. You will leave with a decorated tote bag and/or additional items you may like to bring along; plus the ability to develop your own work, based around what you have learnt, at home.

During the workshop we will be using a limited colour palette to learn about fabric paint and methods of applying it to cloth. We will experiment with mark-making and different ways of producing images and motifs, and explore composition, texture and pattern. After a morning spent learning techniques and experimenting on fabric swatches, there will be time allocated to come together to look at all the work produced and to share ideas and our successes with what we have created. We will then move on to creating an individual design on a cotton tote bag, which will be provided, and/or on cotton or linen fabrics or fabric items that you have brought from home. This could be fabric to make into a small home or fashion accessory, such as a cushion or lampshade; it could be a fabric panel to display on the wall; or it could be an item of clothing.

No previous experience is needed.
