About the workshop:
Join artist and teacher Jane Chipp for a rich and inspiring three-day masterclass in creating an ephemera journal, a tactile, expressive art form that weaves together vintage papers, fabric, stitch, paint, and found treasures.
Over the course of the workshop, Jane will guide you step by step to:
* Build the foundation of your ephemera journal using beautiful vintage papers and materials
* Master Jane’s signature binding method to create a stunning, textured, and truly personal work of art
* Play with colour palettes, textures, and layers to give your journal its own unique character
* Bring your pages to life with creative techniques such as:
-Image transfers on paper and fabric using matte medium, paints, and other mediums
-Collaging old papers into new compositions
-Adding rich texture with fabric, stitch, and pastes
-Ageing photographs and altering images
-Weaving in natural elements
Finish by layering painted marks, stitched details, and unique embellishments that make your journal one-of-a-kind
Throughout, Jane will share the techniques she has honed over many years as a textile and collage artist, offering inspiration and individual guidance so that each participant creates a one-of-a-kind journal, a beautiful fusion of story, memory, and artistic expression.
This workshop is ideal for artists, makers, and anyone drawn to the beauty of old papers, vintage imagery, and tactile mixed media. You’ll leave with a completed journal filled with texture, imagery, and your own creative voice.
